chattels: We affirm our determination and our resolve to continue the reforms and the fight against corruption and the corrupt and not to retreat from that despite the challenges and obstacles.

Will not succeed attempts of losing their privileges of blocking reforms or turn the clock back and reverse what we’ve done, the will of the citizens stronger than them and Stqtal the roots of corruption and achieve justice in Iraq. [ Facebook ]   chattels: Haider al Abadi

chattels: Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “eliminates the parliament’s decision not to ratify the paper Abadi reforms” …parliament voted in favor of Abadi’s reforms as long as they are constitutional. Which is a setback of sorts since Abadi was trying to get his reforms done expeditiously. This is not good news in the sense that it will probably slow progress down to a crawl because we know how slow parliament is to approve anything…and as some believe a win for Maliki and his attempts to prevent progress.

chattels: Abadi announced his reforms on August 8, almost three months ago. If the actions of Parliament today ” slow progress down to a crawl ” then we are months away from real reform.

*SCZIN11: AND MORE INTL CONFIRMATION

*SCZIN11: Prominent Iraqi Politician, Dies, State TV Reports[ By REUTERS NOV. 3, 2015, 3:39

*SCZIN11: BAGHDAD – Ahmed Chalabi, the smooth-talking Iraqi politician who played a role in persuading the United States to topple Saddam Hussein in 2003, died on Tuesday of a heart attack, state television and two parliamentarians said. Haitham al-Jabouri, secretary of parliament’s financial panel, which Chalabi had chaired, said attendants had found him dead in his bed in his Baghdad home.

Chalabi was widely seen as the man who helped push the United States into invading Iraq in 2003 with information about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction programme that was eventually discredited. After Saddam’s fall, Chalabi returned from exile in Britain and the United States.

At one point his name was floated as a candidate for prime minister but he never managed to rise to the top of Iraq’s stormy, sectarian-driven politics. His eventual fallout with his former American allies also hurt his chances of becoming an Iraqi leader. Butifldrm: Truly explains one more piece to the Liquidity Problem Iraq is facing

Doug_W: ‹@Butifldrm› very interesting

chattels: ‹@Butifldrm› very interesting article – shows to some extent how little we know of / about Iraq contemporaneous to an event(s), IMO

chattels: But, again, I confess my ignorance of macroeconomic matters

chattels: ” …… the dollars are flowing again and with better oversight, according to U.S. and Iraqi officials and people familiar with the matter.”

Butifldrm: ‹@chattels› what puzzles me is that the only time we saw the dollar auctions go down is this past summer when Parliament added that amendment to the budget which limited the auctions to 75M

Butifldrm: Now we see the auctions back up to 200M

chattels: ” On Aug. 6, just days before Iraq’s central bank said it would run out of dollars, the Fed and the New York Fed sent nearly $500 million. It has sent several more in the weeks since then.”

Butifldrm: yea

chattels: ” The issue isn’t fully resolved. On Oct. 2, the Treasury hosted a classified meeting in Washington focused on Iraq exchange houses that could have connections to Islamic State, according to people familiar with the meeting.

A couple of those exchange houses are owned by politically connected Iraqis, and U.S. officials discussed how best to persuade other Iraqi officials to terminate those relationships, one of these people said.”

Butifldrm: I knew Iraq/CBI had gone thru almost half of their reserves during this crisis, but had no idea they had almost completely run out of money

Butifldrm: Yea, wonder if those ten gov’t officials that had arrest warrants had any connection

chattels: ‹@Butifldrm› thanks for posting. no clue as to what it may mean for our liquidity event.

chattels: ‹@Butifldrm› those ten were all ” former ” officials is my best understanding, but

Butifldrm: Just wondering what Happened on the 2nd

Butifldrm: The Ministry of Finance approved on 2015/10/28 conduct a public auction auction (Y14) for the sale of the treasury for their remittances (364) on 02.11.2015 Central Bank of Iraq acknowledged on 2015/10/27 conduct a public auction auction (C148) for the sale of the bank for their remittances (91) days 01.11.2015 To / all banks (the Central Bank of Iran) 01/11/2015

Butifldrm: these are the CBI news and announcements

chattels: ” A couple of those exchange houses are owned by politically connected Iraqis,… ”

Butifldrm: yea

Butifldrm: because of the connection to Iran

Butifldrm: probably shia officials
