Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed on Saturday that 2024 will be the year of achievements and the opening of various projects.
Al-Sudani said during its opening of the Freedom Bridge, that “the Freedom Bridge for pedestrians is the first of its kind on the Tigris River,” praising “the efforts of the employees of the companies of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Water Resources, the Baghdad Secretariat and other supporting bodies.”
“The bridge has been implemented despite periods of delays and will streamline the movement of visitors and citizens in general,” the prime minister added.
He added that “the bridge was named for important considerations and connotations of this area, which the grave system was preventing direct communication across the two shores, especially on the days of visits.”
Al-Sudani stressed, “Soon there will be additional services in this region, to complement the origin of this project according to the design prepared by the ministry, making it a service, entertainment and tourist facility befitting the Kadhimiya area, and the general areas of the capital Baghdad.”
