A statement from his office, a copy of which was received by Al-Furat News, said that Al-Sudani “held a meeting in the American capital, Washington, with a number of representatives and correspondents of American and Western media and news networks.”
Al-Sudani stated that the stage is witnessing an important turning point in Iraq’s relationship with the United States, which has focused, for years, on security and military cooperation, stressing that this visit witnessed the laying of the correct foundations for the transition to comprehensive relations in all sectors and economic, political and cultural aspects, in addition to the security aspects within the framework of cooperation. the couple.
He pointed out that Iraq confirmed its commitment to the outcomes of the Supreme Military Committee concerned with ending the international coalition’s mission in Iraq after 10 years. Iraq today is different from what it was in 2014, and that ISIS gangs no longer represent a threat to Iraq, and it is natural to work to reconsider the coalition and its continuation.
The Prime Minister explained that the second track in joint work with the United States was represented by the first meeting of the Supreme Coordinating Committee of the Strategic Framework Agreement, which dealt with the files of energy, investment, transportation, education, and the challenges of climate change, indicating that the government raised the slogan of Iraq first, and that the sustainable interest requires building solid partnerships. Its existence is not limited to governments or administrations, but rather extends to the mutual interests of the two friendly peoples.
