The Ministry of Oil announced on Tuesday the start of exporting jet fuel.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Refining Affairs, Hamid Younis, announced the start of jet fuel export operations from Iraqi ports, according to a statement by the ministry – received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
Younis said that “the ministry has started jet fuel export operations at a rate of 800-1000 tons per day, from export ports,” noting that “Iraqi production of jet fuel is within international specifications and standards.”
“The export process is a step in the right direction, to enhance Iraq’s role globally among the countries producing and exporting oil and its derivatives, in addition to that it reflects the prospects for development in the Iraqi oil industry,” added the Undersecretary.
He explained that “export operations of petroleum products contribute to increasing the financial revenues generated from the activities of the petroleum sector. Thus, it means supporting the national economy. This achievement came as a result of the efforts of the ministry and its employees, and the insistence on opening multiple areas to achieve economic development.”
