The U.S. Energy Information Administration announced on Sunday that Iraq’s oil exports to America rose to surpass that Saudi Arabia last week.
“The average U.S. imports of crude oil over the past week from eight major countries amounted to 5.487 million barrels per day, down 770 million barrels per day from the previous week of 6.257 million barrels per day,” the administration said in a schedule seen by Economy News.
She added that “Iraq’s oil exports to America reached an average of 273 thousand barrels per day last week, up by 14 thousand barrels on a daily rate from the previous week, in which America’s oil exports reached a rate of 259,000 barrels per day, thus Iraq exceeded Saudi Arabia in its exports to America.”
She pointed out that “the most oil revenues of America during the past week came from Canada at a rate of 3.203 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico with an average of 830 million barrels per day, and oil revenues from Colombia reached a rate of 288,000 barrels per day, and then Saudi Arabia at a rate of 242,000 barrels per day.”
According to the administration, “the amount of US imports of crude oil from Nigeria reached an average of 229,000 barrels per day, from Ecuador at a rate of 216,000 barrels per day, and from Brazil at a rate of 216,000 barrels per day, while no quantity was imported from Russia or Libya.”
