Independent MP Raed Al-Maliki said on Sunday that the Central Bank’s policy did not succeed in addressing the effects of the rise in the dollar exchange rate.
Al-Maliki told Al-Maalouma Agency, “The rise in the dollar exchange rate in local markets constitutes an economic burden on citizens.”
He added, “This increase has negatively affected the poor and those with limited income.”
Al-Maliki stressed “the importance of taking all legal measures against speculators and violators and working to protect the national currency from losing its monetary value.”
