Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, identified the negatives of the 2024 budget schedules.
“The Finance Committee is continuing its meetings in order to discuss its final report on the 2024 budget schedules before they are put to a vote in tomorrow’s session, Monday.”
“The opinion was to reduce the spending ceiling, given that the government is unable to finance the allocation and make transfers in order to support development in three important sectors, which are agriculture and water resources, and the distribution of investment allocations between ministries and governorates.”
The “opinions within the Finance Committee differ between those who call for proceeding with voting on the schedules without prejudice to any changes, and there are those who call for internal transfers to maintain the upper ceiling for spending.”
The Presidency of the House of Representatives had set tomorrow, Monday, as the date for voting on the 2024 budget schedules to proceed with them.
