On the one hand this [Closing Iraq’s DFI in the United States] is a big step for Iraq. They now have control over their own funds and they can make their own decisions without asking for permission. On the downside we still have Maliki and the Coordinating Framework in charge of the government…This is a good thing though. It’s a big step for Iraq. It’s a big step in gaining their freedom 100%. Internationally it looks really good for Iraq as well…Untied States is saying, ‘Look we trust Iraq can deal with whatever comes at them…’
