Shafaq News / Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed on Saturday that the Iraqi state is responsible for making major decisions based on the interest of the people, in an apparent hint at the internal informal positions and reactions that are issued to the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian armed factions in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that “the independence of our national decision is at the forefront of the principles we are talking about, and the state is responsible for making big decisions in accordance with the Constitution and based on the supreme interest of Iraqis, which must be present before us at every step, and in every event.”
Al-Sudani added that “these images, positions and concepts of principle based on the realization of legitimate interest and rights together are at the heart of the discourse of Iraqi diplomacy.”
He went on to say that “when we affirm our conviction to resolve differences by diplomatic means, we mean our differences and differences in the region, and it is in the direct interest of Iraq that neighboring countries engage in a supported dialogue that opens door after door to strengthen the ties of peoples, so that political solutions are possible, and within reach.”
The Prime Minister also pointed out that any border or procedural dispute with brothers and friends will find Iraqis the amplitude and spaciousness of the chest to discuss and exchange views, and the intention and strong will to resolve.”
Al-Sudani added by saying that “from this point of view, we are proceeding to find solutions that suit the history of relations, and the strong ties between the Iraqi people and the peoples of the historical neighborhood, solutions that confirm mutual respect for sovereignty and preserve Iraq’s unity and territorial integrity, and are consistent at the same time with international law and UN resolutions.”
