The governorates of Wasit, Maysan, and Najaf had announced the suspension of official working hours tomorrow, on the anniversary of the death of the Great Prophet.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Muthanna, Ahmed Munfi Judah, announced today, Wednesday, the suspension of official working hours for tomorrow, Thursday.
Judeh said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that it was decided to suspend work for tomorrow, on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the Master of Beings, the Prophet of Mercy, the Chosen One Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, indicating that schools that have second-round exams are excluded from the holiday.
For its part, the province of Karbala decided, today, to suspend the official working hours for Thursday, to commemorate the same occasion, while the Governor of Dhi Qar, Muhammad Hadi Al-Ghazi, announced the suspension of official working hours tomorrow, Thursday. , on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the greatest Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stressing that the decision applies to all departments except for service and security

Shafaq News / The governor of the Central Bank of Iraq announced on Wednesday that he discussed with the help of the US Treasury Secretary the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and foreign trade with three foreign currencies other than the dollar.
The bank’s media said in a statement, which was sent to Shafaq News Agency, that the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, received, today, the assistant of US Treasury Secretary Elizabeth Rosenberg and her accompanying delegation. He explained that during the meeting they discussed bilateral relations and discussed the measures taken by the Central Bank of Iraq in the field of combating money laundering and financing terrorism, as well as confirming the continued support provided by the US Treasury and joint efforts to enhance transparency, integrity and the application of international compliance instructions in the Iraqi banking system.
The two parties discussed, according to the statement, the follow-up of the outputs and results of the previous meetings between the Central Bank of Iraq on the one hand, and the US Treasury Department and the US Federal Bank on the other, as well as the possibility of providing technical support in the field of financing foreign trade through sober banking channels with mechanisms that enable the financing of legitimate foreign trade, in different currencies, including (the euro, the Chinese yuan, and the UAE dirham), as well as regulating the movement of trade with the Republic of Turkey.
The US Treasury Department, according to the statement, praised the efforts and steps of the Central Bank of Iraq to contract with international audit companies to ensure the accuracy and transparency of the procedures.
On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Alina Romanowski said in a post on X, “formerly Twitter,” “I am pleased to welcome the assistance of U.S. Treasury Secretary Elizabeth Rosenberg in Baghdad,” noting that she is looking forward to holding important meetings with government leaders and Central Bank of Iraq officials.
“Progress in combating international money laundering and banking reform will help fight corruption and support international investment in Iraq,” she said.
