Donald Trump’s new border official, Tom Homan, said the incoming administration will step up workplace raids as part of its broader crackdown on illegal immigration.
Homan, an early proponent of the “zero tolerance” policy that separated more than 4,000 children from their parents during the first Trump administration, said he would “prioritize threats to public safety and threats to national security.”
“Foreigners with deportation orders have become fugitives,” he added, noting that “immigrants who do not have criminal records but have final deportation orders will be at the top of the deportation priority list.”
He added that “the administration of current US President Joe Biden has lost track of more than 300,000 children who were smuggled into this country by criminal gangs.”
