Today, Monday, the Ministry of Transport announced the completion of Berth No. 2 in Al-Faw Port, and confirmed that the completion rate of the other berths has reached more than 85% and work is continuing according to the agreed upon time frame.
The Ministry stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by 964 Network:
According to the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi, and in the early hours of the new year, the completion of Pier No. (2) was announced.
The work completion rate exceeded 85% in the Five Piers Project, which is a higher percentage than what was planned for the project.
Work in the Grand Faw Port is taking place according to contracts and the time limit, and the project map in the Grand Faw Port, whether the five berths or the rest of the projects, is progressing at a high and increasing pace, without any delay, and at advanced rates compared to what was planned.
The project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects of the project, includes the construction of five giant docks for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a container yard with a length of (2,000) meters and a width of (600) with an initial capacity of up to two million containers annually.
