Trade talks between China and the United States began in Madrid on Sunday, according to Chinese state media and the Spanish government
The Spanish government said in a statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will discuss economic and trade issues, including the TikTok app, with senior Chinese officials, including Vice Premier He Lifeng.”
It added that “the talks began today at the Santa Cruz Palace, the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
The Chinese news agency Xinhua confirmed in a report broadcast from Madrid that “the Chinese and US delegations met today, Sunday, to hold talks on economic and trade issues.”
