Legislators For {Al-Sabah}: Law Package Awaiting Vote

Monday 27 July 2020  110  Baghdad / Muhannad Abdul-Wahab  Members of the House of Representatives stressed the need to hold an emergency session to discuss the Corona pandemic and the electric power shortage crisis, as well as the budget for the current year that has not been approved yet, and while a number of representatives have collected signatures to resume the sessions, the parliamentary committees continue their work in preparing bills in preparation for their presentation if The Council resumes its work.

Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee Abbas Al-Atafi said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The parliament’s committees work despite the legislative holiday, and the signatures of a number of deputies have been collected for the purpose of holding an emergency session to discuss the crises passing through the country.”

Al-Atafi added that “the services committee prepared the Law of Roads and Slums that read a first and second reading and is subject to voting.” Noting that “the law will deal with informal housing and will own slums to its residents within the basic design of the city, while residents within public buildings will be transferred to other areas and have alternative plots of land ”

Al-Atafi indicated that “the committee persists in holding official meetings and not via the Internet on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week”, pointing out that “the committee met with the Ministry of Planning and general managers of the Ministry of Housing and Construction and Iraqi Airways and formed investigation committees in ministries, the Baghdad Municipality and conservative projects Baghdad and airlines and civil aviation authority.

Al-Shami Suggests Borrowing From The Citizen And Paying Twice The Amount
