Signing A Memorandum Of Understanding Between The Kurdistan Peshmerga And The US Department Of Defense
The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced today, Wednesday, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US Department of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs in the regional government.
The presidency said in a statement that the US Assistant Secretary of Defense, Celeste Wallander, signed with the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Shorsh Ismail Abdullah, the updated memorandum of understanding between the US Department of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, for the purpose of continuing to support the Peshmerga in the operations of the final destruction of ISIS.
She added, “This memorandum of understanding, which was first signed in 2016, reflects the long-term coordination between the United States and the people of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and their joint commitment to the final elimination of ISIS,” explaining, “Through this memorandum of understanding, the United States of America renews its commitment to support The role and participation of the Peshmerga forces, as one of the components of the Iraqi security forces, in the operations to destroy ISIS.
According to the statement, this memorandum of understanding sets out both the developments that have been achieved in the field of basic reforms in institutions, and the commitment of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs to further reforms in order to raise the level of professionalism of its forces.
The signing ceremony of the memorandum took place under the supervision of the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Peshmerga forces, and in the presence of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, which confirms the commitment of the Kurdistan Regional Government to continuous security coordination with the United States of America within the framework of the Iraqi constitution and the Peshmerga reform program. . The Federal Court Issues A Decision Regarding The Steps To Establish The National Oil Company

In a statement received by Mawazine News, the court said, “It ruled that Paragraphs (2) and (3) of Cabinet Resolutions No. (109) of 2020 and Resolution (211) of 2021 were invalid, and their cancellation, related to completing the steps for establishing the National Oil Company and assigning the Minister of Oil (Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar) chaired it.
And she added, “The court considered:
1- The failure to find ways to preserve public money, which in fact represents the property of all the people by the legally mandated authorities to do so, represents a violation of the provisions of Article (27 / first) of the Constitution, and that failure to achieve this leads to the absence of justice. 2- The failure to preserve public money leads to the state’s failure to carry out its constitutional duties in accordance with what is decreed for it in Articles (29-36) of the Constitution. Ended

Saleh said, to the official agency, that “the private sector in Iraq is in dire need of soft investment financing in order to achieve the country’s goals in revitalizing the role of the private sector by real diversifying the sources of GDP and approaching the goals of the strategy to raise the percentage of the private sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP from 37% to 50% over the next ten years.
He explained, “The coherence between the effective investment law and the privileges granted to investors on the one hand, and the encouragement of small and medium-sized projects for the private sector on the other hand, needs a soft government financing association, which requires the activation of a civil development bank or a development fund that facilitates loans directed to investment activities in the private sector within a financing plan.” for the next ten years.”
Saleh pointed out that “the activity of the small and medium sector is responsible for absorbing more than half of the unemployment levels currently prevailing in the country in the event of interest in it, and in accordance with a targeted economic and financing policy that supports the civil economy.”
He explained that “the monetary policy initiative of the Central Bank of Iraq for years to support civil production and investment activities requires at the same time an initiative undertaken by the fiscal policy in this regard to achieve the sustainability of markets active in production, investment, development and diversification of the areas of the national economy.” LINK
