Electric car manufacturer Tesla has made a notable change to its Dogecoin (DOGE) payment policy. The company has removed the statement “Note: Dogecoin is also accepted for select products” from the main payment and pricing support page for the Tesla Shop.
Some of Tesla’s localized and non-English support pages still contain the same statement. For example, the Tesla Shop payment pages for Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, and Denmark still state that Dogecoin can be accepted for selected products.
On the other hand, Tesla’s dedicated Dogecoin support page appears to remain active. The page states that users can purchase eligible Tesla products featuring the Dogecoin symbol using DOGE, and the company only lists Dogecoin as the accepted cryptocurrency.
There is no official statement from the company indicating that this development means DOGE payments have been discontinued for some products. Previously, CEO Elon Musk announced that Bitcoin payments were suspended indefinitely due to environmental concerns.
