CBI Training on Detection of Counterfeit Dinars iraq-businessnews

The Banking Studies Centre at the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) has organised a specialised training course on methods for detecting counterfeit local and foreign currency and comparing it with genuine notes.

The course brought together staff from state-owned and private banks, as well as other financial institutions. It combines practical and theoretical instruction on the security features of genuine currency, the subtle differences between genuine and counterfeit notes, and preventative measures against counterfeiting in daily banking operations.

The initiative forms part of the centre’s wider efforts to enhance professional competence within the banking sector and strengthen safeguards for the Iraqi financial system. The centre said the programme aligns with its broader strategy to improve staff skills, raise performance levels, and ensure high standards of financial security.
