This could mean precious metals, petrochemical, etc. If one was to take out a loan solely based on the collateral Iraq possesses, how much would they be able to borrow? Instead, currency is “exchanged” for something of another value…we will exchange for another currency relative to what we want to use…countries, may exchange another currency for yet another, or may not exchange at all.
