BAGHDAD – 2-4 (KUNA) – The Iraqi government said Saturday that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called on the Iraqi Integrity Commission to take legal action regarding what appeared in the foreign media recently reported suspicions of corruption related to oil contracts.
The Iraqi government said in a statement that al-Abadi called on the judicial authorities to carry out prosecutions concerning immediate investigative journalism “serious” about the involvement of senior Iraqi officials in the state in corrupt deals and kickbacks related to oil contracts during the previous Iraqi governments.
The statement did not reveal the names of officials suspected of corruption suspicions, but the two Abarien two foreigners who had published a survey investigation for suspicions of corruption related to senior officials in the Iraqi Oil Ministry, including former and its minister Hussain al-Shahristani.
However, al-Shahristani, who is currently the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Iraqi government has called on Friday to open an investigation into suspicions of corruption and prosecution of the signatories in the event of proven non-validity of the information contained therein.
BGG says to rcookie():Now that makes sense… had a hard time figuring why he wanted no part of it. You would think they would welcome the chance to be a part of the new GOI.
BGG says to rcookie():and that is also why Shahristani is being all freaky lately… makes perfect sense.

tman23 says():Abdul Kareem Luaibi……. Former oil minister…….. I mentioned this guy several times in the past simply because he hid in the shadows. Al-Shahristani played the role of the front man BUT everything went through Maliki…….The real tenacles attach to Luaibi and Maliki ……..
No doubt Al-Shahristani probably took millions in pay money, either you play or disappear, Shabibi was worried enough that he was never returning for fear of disappearing……..
BUT if you recall, it was Al-Shahristani who split the parties making it impossible for Maliki to get the majority in his bid for PM………. And as posted in the past…….
The Basra crude was being piped to Iran and blended with Iranian crude and then sold on the market which fed Iran billions in revenue thus bypassing sanctions…… 17 million to Al-Shahristani or 5 million to Jabouri is petty cash and moot point…..it was the cost of doing business in the cesspool and keeping life……..Forget the millions paid off, every Iraq official got some of that……..
it is the billions that funneled directly to Maliki and Iran……. AND as proof……..recall in the past that Maliki was overseeing the oil licenses and threatening companies
Soonergirlie says():goodness, I’m just shaking my head…:| I’m so glad every hidden thing comes to light and will be found out 🙂

angus says to rcookie():I had put in here yesterday when you posted and making sure that I understood the post about the loan from the IMF is like a credit card sort of…. borrow as needed. They don’t have to take the loan at all and only what they need? Is this right?
eman4u55 says():someone asked yesterday why would iraq need a loan of billons if they were to soon be the richest in the world and i dont think anyone could answer the question could be wrong
tman23 says to wmawhite():definition of cesspool:…….. (merriam webster)………a disgusting or corrupt place.
“they should clean out their own political cesspool” …………. I am reading article after article all dealing with corruption…..I am reading Abadi reforms that is dealing with the exact subject of corruption in their political arena……. The definition fits the current scenario in Iraq……. NOW I ASK……WHAT IS THE ARGUMENT
rcookie says to angus():YES….IS SPREAD OUT OVER 3 YEARS… AND I POSTED ALL THE TERMS YESTERDAY….INCLUDING INTEREST AND FEES….
angus says to eman4u55():The way that I looked at that was my house loan…. I had to have it to get the house but they would not give it to me unless they knew I could pay it back.
eman4u55 says to angus():so what you need money to get money ???
rcookie says():THE LOANS ARE TO STOPGAP BRIDGES OVER 3 YEARS…….
wmawhite says to eman4u55():look at the history of the USA………in 1776 would anybody have believed that the new country of America would be the richest? In 1776 all of the potential was here, just not used nor developed. Same with Iraq…………when it comes to natural resources they are the richest in the region……just not used as of yet.

wmawhite says to tman23(\):I continue to hope that something of relevance will be brought to the table……….
magnetlady says():[11:23 AM] eman4u55: someone asked yesterday why would iraq need a loan of billons if they were to soon be the richest in the world and i dont think anyone could answer the question could be wrong
This was one answer to that: bibi says to RickeyT(1:30 PM): Rickey, as far as I understand it, the loans from the IMF are not to be used to “pay daily bills”, so to speak, but rather are designated to rebuild the country, especially since it’s been ravished by war. The monetary reform is Iraq entering the world market. Those are two different things.
And even after Iraq enters the world market, it will take time before the dinar has greater purchasing power within the country. Hence the need for the IMF loans.

rcookie says to angus():SOME WILL BE ALLOCATED…
wmawhite says to tman23():furthermore,…..I view the term cesspool as an insult to the very people that are willing to go years without pay and fight for their country.
I just happen to have much more respect for the people that have endured generations of poverty and yet still believe that their country is worth much more than a cesspool.
rcookie says to angus():THAT WAS FOR RICKEY
angus says to rcookie():k
rcookie says to angus():HAVE YOU READ THE 2016 BUDGET….

cjquade54 says():everyday there’s more and more to be excited about in this “investment”
rcookie says to cjquade54():WELL SPOKEN!!
tman23 says to rcookie():Back in June 2014 I posted in chat with Chattels that a specific group had been approved on a water project in Iraq they had been waiting 4 YEARS on……June 2014 they were approved and transfrerred 500 million euro to Iraq…….
SINCE that time NOT step one has been frozen and nothing has been accomplished because of Iraq government red tape……. They have not been able to pull their funds from Iraq…….
THUS waiting on the investment law and particulars that would change the rules…….. BUT……How happy do you think they are with 500 million euro @1.43 at the time of transfer now worth 1.10……….
Lose 33 cents per Euro at 500 million…… How happy do you think the private group is ?? It is not a conspiracy……..and if you want to call it conspiracy then the conspiracy is on Iraq’s part………..
And it is not a theory……. So what say you ?? Tman just made it up….. It is a garden of eden and investors are knocking down doors to get in……….They couldn’t sell one bond outside their country……even inside for that fact…….The CBI is buying the GOI bonds using reserves……..
cjquade54 says():we’ll all have great stories to tell about this for the rest of our lives … unless of course we sign an nda … just kidding 🙂
cjquade54 says():but then again it’s probably better to keep quiet about it for the most part
David212 says to rcookie():GM rcookie I did not realize the IMF included droping the the fuel subsidy in it’s MOU? With out and RV that would cause some serious trouble. Phasing gradually once the economy begins to normalize but please thats if true would be disaster
David212 says to rcookie():The IMF and WB have been there before they are savey people. Fuel subs are a real hot button at the wrong time.
tman23 says to rcookie():Yesterday you posted 38 billion in tariffs collected in 2 months………. with glee and excitement……I left it alone…… I would like you to think about that number……..then think of it in IQD and less than 38 million dollars…….then multiply it by 6 and it is less than 240 million dollars for the year…… 38 billion is exciting until presented in the factual manner……..no hype needed……..
And following the auctions and imports you would know that 38 billion in revenue is impossible for 2 months of tariffs………. I let much of this pass by in the wind…..I don’t attack you or get sarcastic…….not my personality……..
tman23 says():ERBIL — After the Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi presented a list of 16 candidates for the upcoming technocrat cabinet, one of the Kurdish figures dropped out today. Nizar Muhammed Saleem Doski, from the Kurdistan Region, announced his withdrawal from the candidacy for the position of the Iraqi Oil Minister.
He explained that with the lack of a political agreement between Erbil and Baghdad, he cannot take the position. Doski thanked PM Abadi for nominating him for the position, but rejected to join the cabinet as there is no prior political agreement between Erbil and Baghdad over the share of Kurds in the central government…….. THE STONEWALLING BEGINS…….AND QUESTION IF ABADI IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO IMPLEMENT HIS CABINET WITH IN THE 30 DAYS
jtank says():tman23- i think bad move for doski to withdraw from what seems to be a very good position for the kurds-
puffdragon says to jtank():I agree Tank, He should use the position to help facilatate an agreement between the two !
tman23 says to jtank():Figure the dispute between Erbil and Baghdad on oil agreements……Then Kurds are going to hold a referendum for independence…….. So throw a Kurd in the position to go against his own people at the direction of the Shia PM……
And all the oil south etc is Shia dominated area with “shia staff”……..and having a Kurd going into the territories giving directives……. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since Basra being the main stage hates the Kurds…….
puffdragon says to jtank():Instead putting his tail between his legs and running from the situation, guess thats a middle east thing
Baxter says():Looks like a long month ahead…
tman23 says():Hakim said during a press conference held in Baghdad in the presence of the leaders of the Supreme Council, “we will work hard to save Government through calculated steps involving all the political components and respected institutions, political forces to” subsidy Abadi himself in the performance of his duties and save the situation. ”
Al-Hakim, said that “at the moment we will arrive to a standstill all options would be open.”
tank says):with a kurd n that position it would help w transparency on oil deals and amounts
tman23 says():The House voted on the final accounts of the Republic of Iraq to the 2007 budget………. WOW..!! So they voted and appears the 2007 budget is closed……. 8 more years to go i wonder ??
Remember they said they opened a budget every year except 2013 (where they did not pass one)…….BUT they have never closed a BUDGET……. NO FINAL ACCOUNTING………
