The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that a drone struck the upper part of the Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad’s Green Zome without causing casualties or significant material damage.

According to the ministry, forensic teams conducted a site and technical inspection following the incident and determined that the drone collided with the hotel’s outer fencing.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and to take the necessary legal measures.

The ministry reiterated its condemnation of any attempts to target diplomatic missions operating in Iraq, stating that such entities operate within legal frameworks and are protected under national laws and international agreements.

It added that efforts are continuing to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions and key facilities, and to pursue those responsible for actions that threaten security and stability.
