Germany Discusses Business Accelerator Programme in Iraq iraq-businessnews

The Ministry of Trade has held talks with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on launching an integrated business accelerators programme to support small and medium-sized enterprises with high growth potential.

GIZ discussed with the Ministry’s Private Sector Development Department the proposed framework for designing and implementing the programme, including evaluation of promising ventures, development of specialised technical and training support, and practical deployment to help participating businesses scale and achieve sustainable growth.

The ministry said the initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of start-ups and growth-oriented SMEs, improve the business environment and encourage innovation and competitiveness in the private sector.

Both sides stressed the importance of deepening technical cooperation and coordinating efforts to support entrepreneurship and contribute to Iraq’s broader economic development.
