{local: Al-Furat News} The Director General of Rafidain Bank, Maher Hussein Rashid Agency, chaired, on Sunday, a meeting in the general administration of the bank, which included the Director General of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Hamza Mustafa, the directors of some government banks and the presence of representatives of the Central Bank of Iraq.
A statement by Rafidain Bank, a copy of which was received by {Euphrates News}, said that “the meeting reviewed what was achieved from the draft internal regulations of government banks and the observations put forward at the previous meeting and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Iraq.”
The Director of Rafidain Bank stressed, according to the statement, that “the goal of changing the internal systems of government banks is to open wide horizons for the bank’s transactions internally and externally, introduce modern and complete electronic systems within the framework of corporate governance and drawing financial policy in the country and benefit from technologies that quickly contribute to the completion and development of transactions in the interest of the bank and its customers.”
The statement continued that “the meeting opened the door for discussions and interventions aimed at addressing the gaps related to the draft rules of procedure of government banks and keeping pace with international banking updates.”
