What does Trump’s financial disclosure report?
Trump’s 2025 annual disclosure, filed on Office of Government Ethics Form 278e and released on June 30, 2026, lists two Bitcoin cold wallet entries. Each is reported in the “Over $50,000,000” category.
The combined disclosed minimum is therefore approximately $100 million. That bracket is the highest available on the form and carries no upper bound, so holdings of materially different size are reported identically.
How many coins does the disclosed minimum represent?
- At approximately $64,000 per Bitcoin, $100 million represents roughly 1,560 BTC
- At $100,000 per Bitcoin, the same sum represents roughly 1,000 BTC
The resulting band of roughly 1,000 to 1,600 BTC is a floor derived from an open-ended bracket, not a measurement of actual holdings. Published figures citing a precise personal coin count are reverse-engineered from the same bracket.
No Bitcoin address has been publicly attributed to the president. Blockchain analytics firms including Arkham Intelligence have mapped Trump-linked Ethereum wallets in detail, but comparable Bitcoin attribution has not been established.
How much Bitcoin does Trump Media hold?
Trump Media & Technology Group (Nasdaq: DJT), parent of Truth Social, reported 14,139 BTC as of July 31, 2026. The disclosure appeared in the Subsequent Events section of the company’s second-quarter filing on August 10 and therefore post-dates the June 30 quarter end, when holdings stood at 9,477.16 BTC valued at $557.1 million.
Two valuations of the same position are in circulation and are not interchangeable:
- $890.5 million, the value on the July 31 holding date, as stated in the filing
- Approximately $905 million, the value of 14,139 BTC at a Bitcoin price near $64,000
The July increase was funded by an asset rotation rather than new capital. The company sold approximately $159.6 million in Bitcoin-related securities during the month, principally its iShares Bitcoin Trust position, and applied the proceeds to spot Bitcoin purchases, including 2,534 BTC acquired directly from that sale. Total holdings rose by 4,661.84 BTC across July.
The figure stands in apparent tension with on-chain reporting from early August, which recorded publicly tagged Trump Media wallets holding approximately 4,261 BTC following a 2,628 BTC transfer to Crypto.com. That balance closely matched the 4,260.73 BTC pledged as collateral against the company’s convertible notes as of March 31. Coins held with third-party custodians or deployed in yield arrangements do not appear in tagged wallet balances, which accounts for much of the divergence.
Trump holds approximately 41.5% of the company, or 114,750,000 shares according to the most recent 13D filing. He transferred the entire stake to a trust controlled by Donald Trump Jr. prior to his swearing-in, separating the economic interest from operational control. A proportional interest in a corporate treasury is also distinct from direct ownership, as shareholders hold equity in the issuer rather than title to its balance sheet assets.
Which Trump-linked Bitcoin is not the president’s?
Three holdings are routinely conflated with Trump’s personal position:
- American Bitcoin (Nasdaq: ABTC) exceeded 8,300 BTC in August 2026. The company was co-founded by Eric Trump and is backed by Donald Trump Jr., with Hut 8 Corp holding a majority stake. The holdings are family-linked, not the president’s
- The US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve consists of taxpayer-owned assets and does not contribute to the personal net worth of any official
- Meme tokens and NFTs transferred to Trump-linked wallets by members of the public constitute unsolicited transfers rather than investment positions
What is the total number?
Two components can be quantified from public filings.
The first is the disclosed personal and entity-held position: a floor of roughly 1,000 to 1,600 BTC, derived from two wallet entries reported at over $50 million each.
Combined, these place total exposure in the region of 7,000 to 7,500 BTC. The figure carries a wide margin on both sides. The disclosure floor may understate the personal wallets by an unknown margin, the Trump Media stake is held in trust, and the company has moved holdings between custody arrangements, loan collateral and yield programmes throughout the year.
