Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Baker Hughes has reached an agreement with Halfaya Gas Company to install a flare gas recovery system at the Bin Umar processing plant in southeastern Iraq.
The project aims to capture up to 300 million cubic feet of gas per day, producing about 32 billion kilowatt hours of energy annually.
The recovered gas will be turned into dry gas, LPG, and condensates for domestic use and export.
The initiative builds on earlier design studies and supports Iraq’s strategy to curb routine flaring, cut emissions, and improve energy security.
Halfaya Gas Company, owned by Raban Al Safina for Energy Projects (RASEP), is developing the project under a 15-year contract with South Gas Company, part of the Oil Ministry.
