The Iraqi Cabinet has approved a recommendation from the Sovereign Guarantees Initiative Committee to issue sovereign guarantees for the establishment of a plant to produce caustic soda in support of a liquid chlorine and caustic soda production facility, as well as a separate project to produce black urea.
These projects are part of the government’s broader effort to expand domestic industrial production, enhance value-added chemical manufacturing, and reduce reliance on imports through strategic financing mechanisms backed by sovereign guarantees.
