Iraq Development Fund and BPI France Sign Cooperation MoU iraq-businessnew

The Iraq Development Fund has signed a memorandum of understanding with BPI France in Paris, aimed at supporting economic cooperation and financing strategic projects in Iraq.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Al-Najjar, Head of the Iraq Development Fund, and Isabelle Bébier, Director of European and International Affairs at BPI France. The signing ceremony was attended by Thaer Waheeb Hussein, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the Iraqi Embassy in Paris.

The memorandum of understanding is intended to:

  • Support sustainable economic growth in Iraq
  • Enhance employment opportunities
  • Strengthen the competitiveness of the Iraqi economy
  • Encourage innovation and development
  • Contribute to the financing of strategic projects within Iraq

The agreement also seeks to encourage French companies to enter the Iraqi market and benefit from available investment opportunities, particularly in productive and development-focused sectors.

The signing forms part of Iraq’s broader efforts to strengthen economic and investment cooperation with France and to open new avenues for development partnerships between the two countries.
