The meeting also discussed Iraq’s economic development priorities, with Ali al-Zaidi highlighting cooperation with United Nations programmes in economic and development fields. He said the government is preparing a national development plan extending to 2050, to be presented as legislation to the Council of Representatives.

Abdullah Al-Dardari congratulated Ali al-Zaidi on the government receiving parliamentary confidence and confirmed the UNDP’s readiness to support Iraq’s efforts, particularly in the return of displaced Yazidis, government institution modernisation, and anti-corruption measures.
