Iraq and Euler Hermes Discuss Support for German Investment:

The Administrative Deputy Minister of Trade, Sattar Al-Jabri, met representatives of Euler Hermes, the German export credit agency, to discuss ways to support and encourage German investment in Iraq. The meeting was held at the Iraqi Embassy in Berlin on the sidelines of the Iraq Economic Conference, in the presence of the Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires.

Discussions focused on mechanisms for joint cooperation to mitigate investment risks identified by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and on the sovereign guarantees programme with Iraq. The aim is to create a secure and attractive environment for German companies seeking to enter the Iraqi market.

Al-Jabri reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening economic partnerships with Germany and supporting investment projects in infrastructure, energy, and industrial development sectors.

For their part, representatives of Euler Hermes expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Iraq, noting that economic stability and an improved business environment provide strong incentives for more German companies to invest in the country.
