Iraq exports over 73 million barrels of oil to US in 10 months

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed on Thursday that Iraq’s exports of crude oil and oil derivatives to the United States surpassed 70 million barrels between January and September 2025.

According to figures released by the EIA, Iraq exported around 73.44 million barrels of oil between January and September 2025, Shafaq News reported.

Iraq’s oil shipments to the United States reached 7.13 million barrels in January, 5.42 million barrels in February, 7.04 million barrels in March, 6.95 million barrels in April, 7.11 million barrels in May, 8.26 million barrels in June, 9.52 million barrels in July, 10.23 million barrels in August, 6.28 million barrels in September, and 5.47 million barrels in October.

Iraq’s exports to the United States are mostly crude oil, particularly heavy crude, with limited refined petroleum products.

In 2024, Iraq’s exports of crude oil and oil derivatives to the United States surpassed 95 million barrels.

In the past few years, Iraq’s oil exports to the US have grown substantially, often hitting unprecedented levels in a single month.

This growth is a result of both the country’s capacity to boost oil production and the growing demand for oil throughout the world.

The United States and Iraq’s oil trade connections are crucial to the two countries’ economic development, the stability of the world oil market, and the supply of energy to the American and international economies.
