Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) — The Iraq Fund for Development has signed an implementation agreement with the German development agency GIZ to advance the “Promoting Employment in the Digital and Green Economy in Iraq” (ProDiGI) project, a key initiative supporting Iraq’s transition toward a more sustainable and technology-driven economy.
The partnership aims to expand opportunities in the digital and green sectors, which are seen as vital to creating jobs and diversifying Iraq’s economy.
With youth unemployment exceeding 35%, both parties emphasized the importance of private-sector growth that combines innovation, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility.
Under the agreement, GIZ will work alongside the Iraq Fund for Development to encourage entrepreneurship, improve access to finance, and build job-relevant skills.
