Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s Ministry of Trade has firmly denied reports alleging the disappearance of 934 billion dinars from its budget, calling the claims baseless and unsupported by any document or evidence.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that its operational budget for the current year has not been released at all, meaning no funds were received for any amount to go missing. The ministry stated that it has been operating solely on limited self-generated revenues since the beginning of the year, under the supervision of financial and regulatory bodies.
The Ministry of Trade emphasized that no financial or administrative violations have been recorded by the Federal Board of Supreme Audit or the Integrity Commission. It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and full cooperation with all oversight authorities.
The statement urged media outlets and the public to verify information before sharing it, noting that spreading unfounded claims creates public confusion and undermines government efforts.
The ministry concluded that its doors remain open to any authority or individual seeking accurate information, stressing its dedication to protecting public funds and serving citizens with integrity.
