Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and US President Donald Trump’s photo shoot on Monday at the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit sent a message of constructive cooperation between Iraq and the United States.
The two leaders shared a positive ‘thumbs up’ gesture, signaling their countries’ intention to expand bilateral cooperation beyond security to include areas such as the economy, energy, and other shared strategic challenges.
The Iraqi prime minister arrived in Egypt on Monday to participate in the Sharm el-Sheikh summit on Gaza, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump and attended by leaders from more than 20 countries.
Al-Sudani and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed several issues, including preparations for the upcoming Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership and the upcoming Conference on the Reconstruction of Gaza, as well as bilateral ties and strategies to develop and broaden collaboration in different sectors.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Sudani held meetings with kings, presidents, and leaders of government, as well as UN and Arab League secretaries-general and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
