ISIS releases photo of bomb claiming it downed Russian plane over Egypt
A magazine belonging to the ISIS has released a photo of a bomb hidden in a soft drink , claiming it had brought down the Russian passenger jet over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, killing all the 224 passengers.
The picture which was published in the latest issue of the monthly magazine ‘Dabiq,’ had the caption “EXCLUSIVE – Image of the IED used to bring down the Russian plane.”
The extremist group, which has a powerful affiliate in Sinai, had previously claimed to have downed the plane without offering further details.
Noteworthy, Russia’s FSB security agency said Tuesday that a bomb brought down the plane in which most of those onboard were Russian tourists, while Egypt said it is still investigating the cause of the crash.
