The Iraqi Oil Exploration Company has completed the two-dimensional seismic survey programme at “Ziggurat-Uruk” in Muthanna and Diwaniyah provinces ahead of schedule.
Director General Osama Raouf Hussein visited the Fourth Seismic Team on Thursday and praised the national workforce for completing the project 12 days earlier than planned, achieving 104% of the target despite technical and geographical challenges. He described the achievement as a significant milestone in the company’s record of successes, demonstrating the capabilities of Iraqi expertise in delivering strategic projects to international standards.
The programme covered a survey area of 1,237.34 km, with 24,792 energy points recorded. The Director General presented shields of appreciation to the team leaders and issued letters of thanks to all staff of the Fourth Seismic Team for their professionalism and dedication.
The project is expected to support future oil development initiatives and contribute to strengthening Iraq’s national economy.
