The Parliamentary Integrity Committee on Sunday attributed the departure of foreign experts to expose corruption in state institutions to the failure to implement the rule of law by former Prime Minister Haider Abadi.

“The results of foreign experts on cases of corruption appeared in accordance with the results of the governmental control authorities,” said a member of the committee, high Nassif said in a statement. “Foreign experts left Iraq and did not complete the files due to the failure to take punitive measures against the corrupters by Abadi”.

She added that “Abadi did not apply the rule of law against the spoilers condemned by the files that have been investigated by foreign experts,” indicating that “the fight against corruption need to apply the rule of law and leave the political niceties to promote the reality of the service and economic of the country.”

She pointed out that “foreign experts have achieved large files related to ministries and oil licensing tours and a lot of files before leaving Iraq .”

Former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has formally asked the United Nations to help him identify the fate of $ 361 billion missing from the country’s budgets between 2004 and 2014, as well as the fate of thousands of projects and investments in the sectors of electricity, housing and agriculture.Even though the state spends $ 98 billion over 10 years on these sectors.
