Walkingstick:  Abadi: Thursday a public holiday in all provinces and added Wednesday to Karbala, Najaf and Babil

BAGHDAD – Iraq Press – November 30: A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Haider al-Abadi, said on Monday that “al-Abadi face to disrupt the official working hours on Thursday, 3/12 in all provinces,”.

He said the brief statement, “Both the provinces of Karbala, Najaf and Babil excluded from the holiday Thursday alone,” pointing out that “always disabled in the provinces mentioned will be on Wednesday and Thursday, the 19-20 of zero to daily.” Ended O.h



Aggiedad77:  Well I would say that is a prudent business decision on Jubouri’s part  (see article below)  to stay and work on getting the 2016 budget passed. Is this yet a breath of fresh air for the Iraqi Parliament to have their priorities straight for a change…..I’m hoping so…..would be nice to see the budget approved before the end of this year.  Aloha Randy:

Walkingstick:  Jubouri cancels his visit to Brussels because he is busy passage of the budget

Baghdad and babysit – canceled House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri his planned visit to the Belgian capital Brussels with preparations for the parliament to pass the state budget for 2016 after a government amendments thereto.

A statement to the Office of the President of the House of Representatives, said al-Jubouri, “canceled his visit to Brussels, which was hoped to be conducted early next December for discussions with the European Parliament on common issues.”

He said the “decision to cancel the visit comes to the concern of House Speaker creating the necessary legislation for the remainder of the legislative term.”

It pointed out that “the President of the Parliament has sent a number of members of the House of Representatives to hold discussions and seminars with committees European Parliament on important issues concerning the Iraqi issue, as well as for the development of parliamentary relations between the two sides and enhance bilateral cooperation,” PSC / h
