A major petroleum conference in London has been told that more than 200 British companies now operating in Iraq, and those numbers are increasing.
Addressing more than 300 delegates at CWC‘s Iraq Petroleum conference, British Ambassador Jonathan Wilks CMG said:
“The UK and Iraq are becoming increasingly strong business partners and education partners, and London is becoming as it once was, the second home for many Iraqis. The number of Iraqis visiting the UK is increasing, so if you hear of difficulties getting, visas this is exaggerated.”
Looking to the current climate in Iraq, Ambassador Wilks added:
“I am more than glass-half-full; the positives in Iraq right now, the dynamics, the sustainability of security improvements and economic improvements are really the best we have seen for many many years.
“We now have the best [Iraqi] government that we’ve had since 2003 … This is an extremely good time to be working in Iraq.“ LINK

Samson: Oil prices fell 0.1% from yesterday

The price of crude oil fell on Friday as concerns over the outlook for the global economy surged on rising tension in the Middle East, which could disrupt supply routes and raise prices.
Brent crude fell 0.1 percent to $ 63.25 a barrel after closing 0.8 percent lower on Thursday.
US WTI crude was not better than its predecessor, dropping 1.1% to $ 56.72 a barrel by 0310 GMT.
There was no settlement price on Thursday because of the US Independence Day holiday. LINK

Samson: Parliamentary Finance: Iraq has not received any money from the Kuwait Conference

Iraq has not received any sums announced at the Kuwait conference for the reconstruction of areas affected by terrorism in Iraq, the parliamentary finance committee said Friday, noting that the conference was a lie to shed the ashes in the eyes.
“The Kuwait conference for the reconstruction of the affected areas is what is the worst of the ashes in the eyes and a very big lie, and Iraq has spent a lot of money delegations to the conference,” saidHaneen al-Qado, a member of the committee .
He added that “Iraq has not received any funds through this conference, especially after the promises received by Iraq from the participants, with regard to the process of reconstruction and investment in areas affected by terrorism, and therefore there is nothing positive about this conference.”
He explained that “Iraq must move away from borrowing, in order not to mortgage the future of generations debt, as international borrowing is one of the big mistakes, because of the benefits they will receive from Iraq, especially with regard to oil, depriving the country of firing grades function in accordance with the terms of the International Monetary Fund” He said. Don961: Gutierrez: Iraq Has Paid 48.3 Billion Dollars In Compensation To Kuwait So Far

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich said Wednesday in the semi-annual report of the UN Security Council that the total amount Iraq has paid to Kuwait has so far reached 48 billion and 300 million dollars.

Samson: Al-Masoudi: Iraq needs 120 billion dollars to pay off its internal and external debts

The deputy of the Alliance of Riyadh al-Masoudi, on Thursday, that Iraq needs to close the 120 billion dollars to pay off its internal and external, pointing out that the parliament voted not to borrow Iraq any amounts during 2019.

Samson: How much time does Iraq need to pay off its external debt?

Samson: Trump prepares Americans to install their knowledge on Mars

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that US astronauts would visit the moon again soon, and then head to Mars, where their first task would be to install the American flag.
Trump’s statement came during a speech in downtown Washington during the American Independence Day.
“Nearly 50 years ago, in July 1969, astronauts landed for the first time on the moon and installed the American flag there,” Trump said.
“The United States will not stand here, we will go to Mars to put another flag of the United States there and we will organize periodic flights to that planet,” he said. “We will return to the Moon very soon, and we will soon install the American flag on Mars,” concluded Trump. LINK
