Issuing new denominations vs changing the currency: These are two distinct tasks and… After consulting my CBI contact…I was told the following: Issuing newer denominations does not mean a redenomination resulting from removing the zeros. And this is the key to understanding. Instead, it means issuing all brand new denominations not used before like the 100 or bringing back the 50 (which was previously taken out of circulation) not part of removing the zeros project. I know, I know many of you are going to think aren’t the newer lower denominations also brand new notes? Yes, they are but they are part of the list for removing the zeros and are not counted as issuing newer denominations but instead a redenomination. :Mnt Goat
