The Iraqi Ministry of Trade has launched an integrated electronic platform under its Companies Registration Directorate, aimed at streamlining the process of establishing and registering businesses in Iraq.
Key features and developments include:
- Full automation of company registration and establishment procedures
- Significant reduction in bureaucratic processes, with transactions that previously took weeks now accelerated
- Digital archiving of more than 103,000 documents and 18 million records
- An online portal enabling citizens and business owners to track their transactions electronically
The Ministry described the digital transition as an economic necessity for reforming government performance and improving services, noting that progress has been made across multiple departments. The platform is intended as a foundation for further development rather than a final stage.
The announcement was made by Trade Minister Dr Atheer Daoud Al-Ghrairi at a press conference.
