{Policy:Euphrates News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, the resolution of the dispute between the share of the Kurdistan region in the federal budget for the year 2023.
“There is no need to sit down and discuss the share of the Kurdistan region, because the proportion of the region was agreed in advance,” said committee member Jamal Kojar {forfarat News}.
He added that “the region’s share is estimated at more than 12% of the budget, and it can be said that this year’s budget is free of any dispute with the Kurdistan region.”
The House of Representatives had handed over, in the middle of last month, the draft budget law for this year and the years 2024 and 2025, by the Council of Ministers, and the value of each budget amounted to about 200 trillion dinars ($151 billion), which is the highest in the history of the country.
The year 2022 passed without the adoption of a budget for the country, due to the political crisis, and the previous caretaker government had tried to send a budget, but was blocked by a decision of the Federal Court.
