Iraq’s Central Bank has named one reason the street dollar stays above its own rate.  On Tuesday its adviser said much of Iraq’s trade with Iran can’t go through the banks because of sanctions, so traders buy their dollars on the street. This week travelers got more official dollars, exchange companies were cleared and about $3 billion of import transfers were paid. The street still closed Tuesday at 168,700 IQD for $100, against the bank’s 152,000. Late Tuesday, an official source said the Al-Sheeb crossing with Iran closes Wednesday morning, with the others to follow gradually.  The bank has opened the doors it controls. The ones that matter now are on the border with Iran. :Reset Intelligence
