I know we’ve had arguments… before. People have said to me, ‘Iraq is not under sanctions. You don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s BS.’ No, no, no, no, no.
Anytime the US holds your [$112 billion oil] profits in their banks, in the Federal Reserves in New York, you are under what we call ‘shadow sanctions’. You are not free to go. Iraq is not free to go out and do whatever the hell it wants to do…I don’t care what you say or how you say it, to me that’s sanctions. Okay, let’s get soft with it.
