Sandy Ingram : The Venezuelan Bolivar continues to lose purchasing power despite some improvement in inflation. The official BCV exchange rate reached approximately 820 bolivars per US dollar… August inflation slowed to 8.9% down from 19.9% in July. Year-over-year inflation was still approximately 534% showing how serious the currency loss of purchasing power remains. For VES holders, falling monthly inflation is encouraging but it is far too early to call this currency in recovery status.
