What most Iraqis did was they hoarded US dollars…Widespread dollarization has been a major drag on the dinar. When people start unloading dollars it reduces dollar liquidity pressure. It supports dinar demand. This could accelerate dinar appreciation. This grassroots shift validates the idea that the public is beginning to trust the dinar’s future value. If there was a revaluation on the horizon, wouldn’t you want the Iraqi citizens to begin trusting in the dinar before the even happens? Because it would make the dinar revaluation that much more ease and seamless once the dinar has more value. They’re already starting to trust the dinar over the US dollar.Stephen
