Political analyst, Khaled Abdel-Ilah, counted the visit of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to Washington as a historical turning point in the core of the Iraqi-American relationship.
“I expect this visit is very important and will give a historic turning point in the core of the Iraqi-American relationship at all levels,” Abdul-Ilai said {Euphrat News}.
He added, “The Sudanese government is talking about a new nature of relations based on activating the strategic framework agreement, especially its Supreme Committee, in a way that enhances important interests and creates a relationship between Iraq and the United States through the strategic partnership, and this is the main point that the Sudanese stressed.”
Abdul-Al-Ali continued, “The stability of Iraq means the stability of the region and this is something that the Americans realize, as Iraq has called since the first day to stop the aggression on Gaza and the justice of the Palestinians.”
“Iraq is focusing on the strategic agreement that has been stalled for 16 years and the Sudanese is strongly present to discuss all aspects of this agreement and activate it and even within the framework of economic partnerships,” he added.
