Abadi says electing Maliki as secretary-general of Dawa Party ‘unprecedented violation”

Former Iraqi prime minister and member at the terrorist Islamic Dawa Party Haider al-Abadi described on Wednesday electing Nouri al-Maliki secretary general of the group as a precedent that did not occur in the history of Iraq.

Abadi further said in a statement that what Maliki was elected with no elections, however, he just received a renewal, which has never happened before.

He also pointed out that this came as a surprise because the party council agreed to postpone the elections, also, he stressed that it is not allowed to use the party to gain politicians who do not add anything to its interests.

He also denied any intentions to found a new party, pointing out that he was going to win these elections, but he preferred to focus on the government formation first.

“I was keen on introducing new faces to the scene, but I was surprised as how do you deal with a man who does not respect his words and pledges,” Abadi added. Source
