Top firm dumps XRP but keeps Bitcoin

Remixpoint Inc. (TYO: 3825), a Tokyo, Japan-listed energy and digital assets company, announced on Sep. 2 that it has sold all its holdings in XRP, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Dogecoin (DOGE). The company now holds only Bitcoin (BTC) in its digital asset treasury.

The company sold 1.19 million XRP, 901.45 ETH, 13,920 SOL, and 2.8 million DOGE for approximately $5.5 million.

The sale generated a gain of around $737,000 — $72,000 in XRP, $377,000 in ETH, and $308,000 in SOL. But the DOGE sale led to a loss of $21,000.

The company now holds 1,506 BTC worth approximately $115.3 million. In fact, Bitcoin is now the only cryptocurrency it holds in its digital asset treasury.

Remixpoint said it decided to concentrate its crypto treasury around Bitcoin to clarify its investment strategy and improve capital efficiency.

It got rid of the altcoin holdings due to the current market conditions, their risk-return characteristics, and financial strategy, the company added. It is weighing using the proceeds from the sale to expand in growth areas such as grid-scale battery storage, make its financial position robust, and follow measures to increase corporate and shareholder value.

The company said it also lends Bitcoin to generate returns, earning 14.92 BTC in lending fees worth around $1 million between Feb. 24 and Aug. 31.

The Remixpoint stock closed 5% lower at $228 on Sep. 2.

Bitcoin was trading at $77,501.30 at the time of writing, down 1.2% in 24 hours.
