chattels: What is the significance of the foregoing ?
chattels: One would have thought that such a ” temporary measure ” implemented in 1999 would have been discontinued over a 16-17 year period of time, eh ?

chattels: In the meantime, more needs to be done to find a political solution. “I don’t see any traction on political reconciliation in Iraq,” Talabani said. Compared with a year ago, Sunni disenfranchisement was now deeper and Shi’ite mistrust of Sunni intentions greater, he said. wealthwatch.world/showthr…  http://wealthwatch.world/showthread.php?tid=3801
chattels: “I don’t see any traction on political reconciliation in Iraq,” – Qubad Talabani
tourman: I dont see it in this country either Chattels
chattels: ‹@tourman› Nice ” find “.
tourman: ya, it piqued my interest.
chattels: Seif and the like-minded figures argue that inflation is a determining factor, saying a single-digit inflation rate is an essential prerequisite for a unified exchange rate system.
chattels: So what would the currency market be like in the post-sanctions era? Traders and business owners already put off their plans to import raw material and machinery, hoping the rial will appreciate in a meaningful way when a nuclear deal is signed by the self-imposed June 30 deadline. A stronger rial is largely feared to be translated to cheap imports, a phenomenon that economists are warning against.
chattels: ‹@tourman› Currency reform and policy is a complicated ” business “, eh ?
chattels: So the economic elite in the government are advised to stick to a contractionary policy when it comes to the foreign currency market, in a bid to prevent the national currency from too much destructive appreciation against the dollar.
chattels: ” …………. to prevent the national currency from too much destructive appreciation against the dollar.”
tourman: lol
chattels: If the CBI applies the same policy as China did, the rial will not appreciate very much and therefore imports would only increase reasonably. Instead, the government has the opportunity to invest in regional countries, a policy the Rouhani administration has already started to pursue.
It could be a defendable decision if the CBI chooses to shift a major part of the multi-billion dollar revenue to external markets. The strategy could meanwhile boost Iran’s foreign policy as it would help increase the Islamic Republic’s share in other investment markets, the same path China, a model economy for Iran, has been following.
tourman: off to the driving range. have great day Chattels.
chattels: If we apply the same economic principles to the IQD then it would appear that the overnight valuation of the IQD at the number(s) hoped for by us would be destructive to the Iraqi economy and not the salvation preached by the gurus in ” dinarland ”
chattels: ‹@tourman› Have a fine day sir
chattels: Increasingly I am reminded of the maxim that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. We likely have no business speculating in currency markets.
chattels: We the blind ” led ” by the unknowing.
Doug_W: and ppl RUSH to follow
chattels: ‹@Doug_W› I am feeling rather foolish these days.
Doug_W: ‹@chattels› ?
chattels: I began this investment with the thinking that a high value to a country’s currency was universally desirable, but such thinking is far from the whole truth it appears.
Doug_W: I have heard SOO much junk that I ignore most of it now
Doug_W: makes 4 a LOT smother ride
chattels: ‹@Doug_W› understandable
Doug_W: when it happens its DONE till then its all speculation
chattels: ‹@Doug_W› I must now conclude that I have taken this investment and myself far too seriously.
Doug_W: relax  🙂  Doug_W: bbl watching a great movie in Ion Tv
chattels: And we still have the self proclaimed ” First Deputy President of the Republic ” : Maliki calls the US ambassador to increase his country’s support for Iraq
chattels: president of a coalition called the rule of law Nuri al-Maliki, the US ambassador in Baghdad Stuart Jones to increase US and international support for Iraq. And his office said in a statement received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it, that “al-Maliki met with Jones and discussed with him the developments in the political and security situation and efforts in the fight against terrorism and the victories achieved by the security forces and the popular crowd in Anbar province.”
Maliki confirmed during the meeting that “the Iraqis Ptlahmanm and patience were able to defeat Daash terrorist gangs in all breakers operations, especially in Salahuddin and Anbar, indicating that conditions are suitable for the reconstruction of the liberated areas and prepare for the return of displaced families to it.
“He pointed out al-Maliki to” the negative effects of the economic crisis that has plagued Iraq because of falling oil prices and its impact on efforts to eradicate terrorism and the return of displaced people, calling for increased US and international support for Iraq, and to contribute to the return of displaced persons and displaced people throughout the country programs. ”

chattels: How about the negative effects of Mr. Maliki’s corrupt administrations ?
Doug_W: EXCELLENT POINT HE’S A THIEF
chattels: I must conclude that I am chasing an understanding of a process that likely is beyond my comprehension and confounded by the use of incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent and / or disingenuous information / propaganda. I am tired and tired of it.
I have deceived myself and more egregiously I may have unwittingly deceived others. I am a danger to myself and others. Please forgive me if anyone has relied upon my enthusiasm and optimism about the prospects of a happy ending to this unhappy process.
I am holding on to my currency, but I am retiring from any public profile in this matter. My hope is that a merciful God will somehow take care of us.
Praying for a miracle. Godspeed the completion of the Iraqi banking sector reform project. Good luck to all. I can be contacted privately on skype at edwardj.dennisiv
