Tootsie: Wednesday, April 13, 2016 Iraqi cabinet reshuffle fails in first exam 4:48 AM admin Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraq is heading to acute political crisis that will increase its dangers within the current security and economic crises.
The Iraqi Parliament, yesterday, postponed the voting for the new (theoretical) Iraqi reshuffle till tomorrow’s session in the light of the hectic differences among the political blocs within the parliament on the names of the candidate and who has the right to nominate them.
The failure to pass the new cabinet means the “closure of the doors before expected reforms” which will stir the Iraqi public for a new denunciation move that will perplex the situation before the Shiite ruling elements and put the country on the verge of collapse. Before ten days, Premier Haidar al-Ibadi submitted proposed names, but was met with avowed rejection by the political bloc that refused to lose their ministerial posts.
In the light of this situation, Premier was obliged to propose a new list, but was, also, met with opposition of the Sadrist al-Ahrar movement that announced its boycotting the sessions of the parliament, including tomorrow’s session.
The Sadrist trend has 34 MPs, in addition to its public weight which was proven in the massive sit-ins called by its leader Muqtada al-Sadr, near the well-fortified Baghdad Green Zone. Observers believe that it the Sadrist leader failed to achieve his political perspective in the coming change of the Iraqi government,
he will resort, again, to the Iraqi streets and public, that will lead to new political wrangling in the country.
Yesterday, it was supposed that the Iraqi parliament will discuss and vote for 14 new ministerial candidates, following an agreement with Iraqi political blocs, but ended in parliamentary chaos and sit-in initiated by the MPs of the Sadrist Trend, which obliged the presidency of the parliament to postpone the meeting till tomorrow, Thursday. The parliamentary sit-in was described as the “white revolutio
