Banks: We are waiting for a notification from the Finance Ministry to launch salaries within 24 hours

Baghdad Post Sunday, June 28, 2020  A source in the Ministry of Finance revealed on Sunday that government banks are awaiting a notice to release the salaries for the employees this month of June.

The source said that it is hoped that the notice will reach the banks to launch and pay salaries within the next 24 hours.

Yesterday, Saturday, the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, directed the Ministry of Finance to expel the salaries of employees.

The Iraqi government is struggling to secure employee salaries and other operating expenses due to the collapse in oil prices due to the Corona pandemic, which has paralyzed large sectors of the world economy. The country relies on revenue from the sale of crude to finance 95 percent of the country’s expenditures.

And Finance Minister Ali Allawi, had warned in statements, on Wednesday, that the Iraqi economy may face “shocks that it will not be able to deal with” unless reform measures are adopted in less than a year, stressing that 40 million Iraqis will have to submit to a tight austerity policy It may last “two years”.

Al-Kazemi: The money allocated to the Ministry of Electricity must be spent properly away from corruption

The federal court bill is almost finished

Sunday, June 28, 2020 Baghdad / Omar Abdul Latif  The Legal Committee of the House of Representatives is close to completing the Federal Court Law before submitting it to the Presidency to put it on the agenda. The deputy head of the committee, Mohammed Al-Ghazi, stated in an interview with Al-Sabah that the First Amendment Law of the Federal Court No. 35 of 2005 will be presented for the first reading, to complete the legislative procedures within the committee.

Al-Ghazi added that the Federal Court did not complete the quorum after one of its members submitted his resignation, noting that the committee insists on passing the first amendment of the law, which will be an achievement for it during the current session, after the previous sessions failed to pass it.

For his part, the committee’s rapporteur, Yahya Al-Mohammadi, stressed the importance of legislating the law because the Federal Court is part of the judiciary, and its existence is important to form a parliamentary system within the ruling authority in Iraq.

Al-Mohammadi said in an interview with Al-Sabah that the evidence of the importance of the Federal Court Law was that the previous two parliamentary sessions did not succeed in approving this law, despite all serious attempts to legislate it, but the political forces were unable to do so because of its importance and challenges within Parliament, noting that the system The parliamentarian is based on the principle of separation of powers, therefore the Federal Court is part of the judiciary and must have an independent law, as stated in Article 92 of the Constitution.

Deputy: Iraq is able to pay the salaries of its employees for the next six months

Political| 28/06/2020  BAGHDAD – Mawazine News  , the independent deputy, Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani, announced that the employees ’salaries are insured for the next six months, after similar government assurances regarding the salaries.

The Sudanese said, “Our financial problems are represented by multiple accounts. For example, a while ago, there was a billion dollars in the sumo company account, and this amount was spent to pay salaries.”

Al-Sudani indicated that there is a “round account for ministries that have not spent their budgets, investment plans and projects, and these are all controlled.”

The Iraqi parliament records more than 150 cases of coronavirus

Political  Sunday 28 June 2020 On Sunday, the House of Representatives registered more than 150 cases of coronavirus among its members and employees.

Council member Fadel Jaber said, “Government floundering in decisions is the main reason for the high rate of injuries, as the government erred in the face of Corona,” noting that “the capital Baghdad has become a dangerous city after registering thousands of injuries.”

He added that “the House of Representatives recorded more than 150 cases of coronavirus among its members and employees,” noting that “the House of Representatives also recorded deaths of a number of its employees, and this matter constitutes a great danger and the sessions may not take place.”

Corona in the Iraqi parliament .. Representatives refuse to attend the sessions for fear of injury

Political Sunday 28 June 2020  A parliamentary source said today, Sunday, that the Presidency of Parliament did not specify any date for the resumption of the sessions, while referring to the refusal of the representatives to come to the sessions for fear of being infected with the Corona virus.

The source said, “The sixth session of the House of Representatives that witnessed a vote on the local and external borrowing law was raised to another notice, and no date was set for the resumption or convening of the next session.”

He added that “there are currently no indications for the resumption and holding of the sessions,” noting that “members of Parliament will not attend the council sessions for fear of being infected with the Corona virus.”
